Demon Wins Engine Masters’ Challenge -
Three Years in Succession
Using a 1095 King Demon, John Kaase Racing Engines recorded their second successive
victory in the prestigious Engine Masters’ Challenge, a national contest
between 50 of the country’s top engine tuners. “Adjustability is
the key in this contest,” said Kaase. “With the Demon’s removable
venturi sleeves, we were able to exploit the engine’s potential over a
wide range of rpm.”
Introduced in 1998, King Demons are the first large four-barrel modular carburetor
to be equipped with removable venturi sleeves, which range in size from 795
to 1295 cfm; three-circuit CNC-billet aluminum metering blocks for drivability
and for the prevention of porosity and variations in the metering circuits;
and a removable baseplate with external linkage making throttle plate changes
easy.
